Fox News tried to make a 'right-wing equivalent' of the Daily Show a few months ago, apparently failing to spot that the Daily Show doesn't have any particular political leaning - It just happens to make lots of jokes about the Right because they will insist on being so very awful. Fox's 'Half-Hour News Hour' was horrible by comparison, partly because it was consciously right-wing, but mainly because it was as funny as a trip to Homebase.

Anyway, I always thought politics was all about people with varying viewpoints getting together to discuss them. Surely a politics show leaning either way will just be a bunch of people agreeing with each other?

*wavy effect, harp noise*

"Right, first subject tonight: Are asylum-seekers good or bad?"
"Bad"
"Yup, Bad"
"Have to agree. Bad."
"Gosh, that was easy. OK, next: Hunting. Good or bad?"
"Good"
"Good"
"Good"
"Fair enough. Ummm... That's all my cards used up now. How much longer have we got to fill? How long?! Right. Um... Anyone know any songs?"Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
