- I'm one of the team of hacks at Private Eye magazine, where I've worked on and off since 1997. I'm also an editorial lieutenant on Popbitch (not sure what it means: we made up the job titles in the pub). I've written for a number of other newspapers and magazines, been a co-presenter on LBC, a regular newspaper reviewer on Sky News and written a biography of the Victorian businessman and philanthropist William Lever. My first novel, Topped of the Pops, a comedy thriller, was to be published in May 2008, until the publishers went bust. From 1999-2002 I was deputy editor of The Big Issue.

A horrible thought indeed. But wouldn't it look odd after her claim that she has to look after her old dad and her kiddies? - though I suppose she could put pro-Gord videos on YouTube a la that old former French PR of Heather Mills who told the world how wonderful her client was in a treble act with a bitch hairdresser and a fluffy dog in her lap. Yes, suddenly Gord seems interesting ...
I LOVED her. The idea that that was what Heather needed to make herself loved by the public... mind you, Hitler speaking up on his good friend Heather's behalf at that point probably couldn't have made things any worse.
As for Fiona, given that Gordo's already up there being interviewed by Arabella Weir, it's not too big a jump...
My favourite Fiona-ism, from 1997 - on Diana's death - "It's important to remember at a time like this that Diana backwards is 'an aid'."
